Obituary

        George T. “Tom” Hubbs, age 88 of Anna, died Thursday, May 12, 2022 at the Illinois Veterans Home in Anna. He was born July 10, 1933 in Anna, the son of James Ray and Florence Ann (Haire) Hubbs. He married Barbara Sue Templeton on May 22, 1955 in Anna. She preceded him in death on August 29, 2016.

        Tom is survived by his son, Greg Hubbs of Anna, grandchildren, Lyndsey Hubbs and Emily Hubbs; great-grandchildren, Clayton Thomas Hubbs and Ella Clara Hubbs; siblings, May King, Betty Carter, and Harold Hubbs; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara Sue Hubbs; daughter-in-law, Angela Hubbs; and brother, Doris Hubbs.

        Tom was a member of Anna Heights Baptist Church. He was a musician and loved playing steel guitar. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korea War. Tom loved his family and will be missed by all.

        Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. LaRue Parr officiating. Interment will be in the Anna Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the VFW in Anna and the Illinois Army National Guard Military Honor Team of Marion. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
