Russell Morgan

    Russell Morgan, age 89 of Buncombe, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023 at his home. He was born on March 30, 1933 in Anna, the son of Rollie and Mollie (Russell) Morgan. He married Marion Talley on September 3, 1955 in Ware. She preceded him in death on June 20, 2022.

    Russell is survived by his daughters, Tammy (Steve) Pearman, Cindy (Anthony) Edwards, Shari (Tim) Spurlock and Tricia Morgan; his grandchildren, Andrea (Ron) Kosydor, Jane (Andrew) Inman, Jordan Edwards, Joshua Spurlock, Lisa (Justin) Presson, Amanda (Eric) Flamm and April Pearman; great grandchildren, Taylor (Joseph Goins)  Ridenhour, Zachary Kosydor, Evan Inman, Sophia Nadine Flamm and Saylor Presson; a brother, Everett (Nancy) Morgan; sister, Mary Morgan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion Morgan, his parents and four siblings, Wesley Morgan, Helen Jeanette Harley, Sarah Freeman and Juanita Sadler.

    Russell proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army 118th Infantry Unit from 1953 to 1955. His working life was spent as a machinist and later a truck driver. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing and spending hours in the woods sharing his knowledge with his family and friends. He enjoyed making homemade maple syrup.

    A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the First Pentecostal Church of Goreville with Bro. Adam Mach. Family and friends may gather from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour at noon at the church. Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers and to honor Russell’s love of the woods, the family has requested that a tree be planted in his memory. The link to plant a tree can be found below.
